Parishioners at St. Anastasia have always been generous when asked to help those in need. For years, you have helped support so many through the Advent Giving Trees and Thanksgiving Gift Card donations.

Our Religious Education Program and Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy has also been part of parish efforts in Social Outreach. For the least three years, they have participated in collecting donations to give families in need a Thanksgiving meal. Students collected, sorted and packed items through the Valentine Project to give gifts to women in shelters. And we have even organized a “Baby Shower for Mary” to help mothers going to Bridge to Life for help.

With all the hardships facing many families at this time, we are looking to expand our Social Ministry. We are looking for volunteers of all ages to help us in many facets of this ministry: planning, reaching out to non-profits to see their needs, and sorting and packing what is collected. If you are interested in being part of this, please contact Rose Ruesing at 718-225-5191 or via email at [email protected]. There will be a meeting of volunteers in February to launch this ministry.

Thank you and God bless!
