Faith Formation & CCD Office

Mrs. Rose Ruesing, Director

Acceptance of Student

St. Anastasia School of Religious Education accepts students for all sacramental preparation including children in grades First through Eighth. Children must be ready to receive religious instruction and our school may not accept children who do not meet certain criteria; e.g., emotional stability or age appropriate social maturity. Our parish is dedicated to meeting the needs of all children and alternative faith formation is offered in these cases.

Children wishing to receive the Sacraments must meet the required standards of the diocese and our school by attending and participating in all of the Sacramental preparations of our formal religious instruction.

Withdrawal of Student

Parents should notify the Religious Education office in writing if a child is withdrawing from our school.

Our school is required to keep adequate records of weekly attendance. When a child is absent from class, a written explanation from the parent is required upon returning. If the child will be out for an extended period of time, parents are required to telephone the Religious Education Office.

Good to perfect attendance is encouraged and will be rewarded.

Students achievement and progress in grades 1 – 8th are evaluated and reported twice a year. Progress reports will be sent home. Parents can arrange to meet with the teacher and Director regarding the progress of their child.

Sacrament of Penance

Students are prepared and ready to receive this Sacrament during their second year of study. A two year program is required and parents are to attend all scheduled meetings.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion

Children will be prepared and ready to receive this Sacrament in May of their second year. A two year program is required for this Sacrament.
